If you are a parent and you want your child to use their own iPad, please ensure that any parental controls you have set up do not interfere with the iPad’s ability to send and accept AirDrop files through AirDrop.  We use this feature to backup student files and accept lesson materials.

  • You are welcome to bring a carer, friend, or family member to support you free of charge. You do not have to inform me of their presence beforehand, but if you do, it is helpful for planning out the number of chairs we need. You do not have to have a companion card for this accommodation, but your support person will not be guaranteed their own equipment to participate in the workshop or class.  If the class/ workshop is not full, then they will be given the option to use the equipment.
  • If you would like your support person to participate in the workshop/ class for free, then you will need a valid companion card. Once you have booked in for yourself, then use the ‘contact’ page to let me know you have a companion card and will be bringing a support person with you. This ensures I can adjust for the new numbers.

I also check all of my students for aphantasia. People with aphantasia can’t see or can see very little of a picture in their brain when you ask them to think of something. Many people with aphantasia do not realize they have it. It can make drawing more difficult if you don’t know you have it, but if you do, there are some great tricks to working with your brain. It is an important thing for me to know as an art teacher in order for me to teach you well.

Can I listen to music, use a fidget, food and drink (non-alcoholic) in class?

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own fidget toy, food, drink (non-alcoholic), and earphones/headphones to listen to music.

I bring a bag of fidgets to class that anyone can use, and I have a speaker with music chosen by the students in the class. I only ask that water bottles have lids to keep the equipment safe.
